Versace Pre-Fall 2022 Collection Blends Iconic Black and White Patterns with Pops of Color
Versace brings back the acanthus leaves print, as well as the La Greca and I Ventagli patterns for an all-new collection.
The Versace Pre-Fall 2022 collection of womenswear and menswear is finally here. A new take on the Baroque print, the collection is larger, bigger, and black and white. But make no mistake — the clothing itself is colorful and bright.
The womenswear consists of a variety of style choices, like latex skirts, black leather suits, and printed dresses. Combining multicolored prints with the black and white Baroque patterns, these clothes allow a woman to continually reinvent herself. Pops of color are provided by the La Greca pattern and the I Ventagli print, which is an older design that appears as silk inserts on leather jackets, dresses, tops, and more.
Some of the most stunning looks of the womenswear include the blazer-sweater and matching skirt and shirt set, with the multicolored La Greca pattern and matching bandanas, the psychedelic patterned black and white sleeveless shirt with leggings, the rhinestone-embellished dress and crop top and bottom set in light blue and pastel pink, and the pastel dresses over the black and white patterned stockings and matching dress with Medusa pumps.
For menswear, the new looks consist of either fitted suits or loose silhouettes, but there is no in-between. A striking theme within the new collection is acanthus patterns on several of the garments in both black and white, as well as silver metallic colors, on tops, denim, and silk pajamas, while the La Greca print adds the signature Versace feel.
The best ‘fits for menswear consist of a fuchsia collared shirt and shorts set with white acanthus leaves, the denim top and bottom sets, especially the shirt with the acanthus pattern and matching jeans, and the metallic jackets that serve as statement pieces over the grey patterned pants and black and white undershirts.
In terms of accessories, the Pre-Fall 2022 collection comes with the La Medusa and Virtus bag collections in brand-new color and material finishes, such as denim with handmade worn-out detailing, hand-painted python, and satin with glitzy embroidery. For shoes, the Aevitas and Triplatform sandals come in new satin finishes, whereas the Medusa Biggie hardware will be available in new crystal-embellished options.
“Whoever said that it cannot be black AND white?” Donatella Versace said, according to the press statement. “I see creativity as an opportunity and a way of looking at things you have known all of your life in a different way, from another perspective and transform them into something new that, like a scent reminds you of emotions past, but are now connected to something completely rooted in the present moment.”
